Blessed 25 months with D & H ♥

I cannot put into words how blessed I feel.

I have hard days, yes. They are not nearly as often as great days.

I have 3 beautiful little boys.

The twins are growing so fast. I enjoy talking with them all day. Their vocabulary blows me away. I love that Drake has turned into a parrot! He loves to repeat and imitate anyone. Hunter, Daddy, me, etc. You never realize your habits until you see them in your child. I say okay, A LOT! This is my filler word I guess you could say. I also talk with my hands. The twins point and get so expressive with their hands. They say thank you and your welcome for EVERYTHING and it melts me. They should say please more often, so we are working on that.

They adore Luke. Drake loves to kiss him in particular, and Hunter loves to talk to him. It makes me so happy to see the love between them already.

They now sing the "I Love You" song on Barney. They know when to give the hug and when to kiss. It is the sweetest thing.

They started taking baths in "Mommy's Bath" this month. They love to be in the big bath. They spin around like fish when we are letting the water out.

Hunter crawled into Drake's crib for this first time this past week. We got a solid 2 years of them not climbing out! They had no reason to climb out since their best friend is right there. The following day Drake crawled into Hunter's crib. I found Hunter standing outside his crib crying because he wanted back in. So, I ordered the safety gear we needed to transition their cribs to toddler beds. We are keeping the sliding closet door shut, securing the tall dresser to the wall, and securing the drawers shut so they cannot empty them. These safety measures are very important to me. Especially after reading the Meghan's Hope story on Facebook. If you have children in your home, I highly recommend you read this story.

Drake loves to say "Brandon Paaaaaaaul" It absolutely cracks me up!

They are starting to understand that every noise Luke makes isin't "Luke's crying." They will now say "Luke's talking"

They love the moon! If they are outside at night they look for it everytime. They also tell it goodnight.

Drake refers to his brother as Hunter more often than bubba now, but Hunter still refers to Drake as bubba.

They are OBSESSED with carrying around DVD cases. They have Mickey Mouse and Barney ones. They call it "Barney TV" or "Mickey Mouse TV"

Hunter is STUBBORN !!!!!!!!!!!! That boy has an iron will. Lord help me. He has the sweetest smile, and knows it. He flashes that smile when he is doing something he is not supposed to be doing. He is going to be our one that gives us gray hair.

Drake loves to give kisses! Since they were infants I would say I am stealing their kisses and kiss them all over. Drake does this now. The first time he did it to me I cried!

Drake is such a mommy's boy. He wants me to be the one to put him in bed. If anything is wrong, he wants mommy. If nothing is wrong, he wants mommy. I don't mind a bit :)

He loves to get kisses when he has a bo-bo.

Both boys will spank and say "mean _________" when they hurt themselves. So, they accidentally hit the table. Spank the table and "Mean Table" is heard from both boys. It makes them get over it quickly, and if we don't see the incident we now know what happened ;)

They will tell you "It's a bug" Typically, it is not actually a bug. It is lent, or bark mulch, etc. On the rare occasions they are right, sweet baby jesus help me!! We have had a couple tree roaches in our house recently. I am DEATHLY afraid of these things. Of course, I am the only adult home when we see it and have to get it. I try to stay calm by saying oh my goodness, sweet baby jesus, etc. My parrot, aka Drake, repeats me the entire time. Which makes it slightly comical. This particular time, the darn thing ran under the washer. After trying to get it out I shut the laundry room door. Hunter layed on the ground with his mickey mouse flashlight at the bottom of the door. Of course, that awful thing came running out at my BABY! He was petrified screaming, crying, and I was doing my best to stay calm. Now, that this thing went after my baby I attacked it and disposed of it without fear! If there was a camera in my house during this ordeal, we would be millionares.

Hunter loves to throw stuff. Everything. He will walk up and just start throwing toys over his shoulder. He cannot stand for anything to be put away. He laughs and smiles the whole time he does it. Blocks on the table, throw them off. Toys in a bucket, dump them out.

They wake up and immediately ask for milk and a snack. They love the Welch's fruit snacks. This normally holds them long enough for me to make their oatmeal and put it in the freezer to cool off. They LOVE oatmeal, aka "me-meal"

Luke at 2 months !

Luke is two months old!

When he was 5 weeks old I went to a breastfeeding support group. I was able to weigh him before feeding him and after feeding him. This showed me how much he was eating. He ate a little over 3 ounces. I had to feed him half a feed about an hour before the meeting, so I was very pleased with how much he ate! He weighed 10 lbs 11 oz at this meeting.

A week later we took the twins for their 2 year appointment so I weighed Luke at 6 weeks. He weighed 11 lbs 15 oz. He had gained a pound in a week! :)

At his 2 month appointment he weighed 12 lbs 10 oz, the 74th percentile. He is 22 inches long, the 18th percentile. I have a short chubby baby!

He had 2 shots and one oral. He was sleepy after the appointment. That evening he wanted to be held and didn't nurse very much.

He has a stuffy nose so I am having to suction his nose.

He is wearing size 3 month clothing.

He wears size 2 pampers swaddlers.

I still swaddle him at night to sleep. He still startles, but I noticed this week it is improving.

He transitioned to his crib at 6 weeks old.

He has a white noise machine. I noticed he seems to prefer white noise to music. I ordered the Munchkin White Noise Machine. I like that it is sound activated, so when he stirs at night it kicks on.

We started his night time routine at 6 weeks old. He gets a bath, lotion, pajamas, swaddled, nursed, and put to bed in his crib with his white noise playing. He goes to bed around 8:30 or 9:00. He sleeps 5 to 6 hours before waking. I feed him for around 10 minutes and he goes right back to sleep. He then sleeps another 3 to 4 hours. So we are normally up around 2 or 3, and again around 6 or 7.

He does not like to take a bath alone. I normally get in the bath with him to bathe him. He loves it. He hates getting lotion when he gets out of the bath.

He rolled over belly to back several times during tummy time at 8 weeks.

He is such a happy baby! The only time he cries is when he is hungry.

He loves his swing! He noticed the mirror and mobile on his swing. He talks
often while swinging.

He normally takes one 3 hour nap in his swing during the day.

He is definitely more alert now. He typically eats, stays awake for an hour to an hour and a half, then he gets heavy eyes and needs to go to sleep. He naps in his swing, rock and play, or his crib.

He really found his voice. He loves to coo back and forth with me. He really showed off his voice at his 2 month dr appointment. His voice is so precious! I love the way it sounds!

He does great with eye contact.

He is such a smiley baby! He smiles a lot while on his changing table.

The twins LOVE to hold and talk to him. Drake constantly kisses him. Hunter likes to lay with him. They play on his activity mat with him. They ask for him when they wake up.

He still likes his Rock and Play Sleeper.

He spit up in his car seat last week which is really strange. He never spits up. I had to wash the cover. Luckily we just used the other car seat for the day. One of the blessings on having twins, an extra of everything!

Seeing him in the twins' clothes makes me so happy. It brings back memories of when they wore it.

He is looking more and more like me. I am surprised how much he is changing. The twins look so much like their daddy, and Luke did at birth. The older he gets he has more mommy in him.

He has a very distinct smell and I love it. I don't remember the twins having a smell, so this is something unique to him.

He has very serious faces or very happy faces. He is either smiling or giving a serious face with his eye brows furrowed.

He has the most beautiful turquoise blue eyes!

He likes tummy time which is drastically different than the twins at this age.

He has quite a few rolls on his legs and a big belly which is why we had to move up in diaper size!

Breastfeeding is still going very well. He eats every 3 hours during the day. Sometimes he eats every 2 hours. At night it is much longer. At least 5 hours from the last feed before bed, then 4 hours.

I started pumping more often this week. I am trying to pump once in the morning and once at night. This makes me able to have some feeds in the freezer when we need them. He normally takes 1 bottle a week to be sure he will take one when I go back to work in the fall. He takes the Dr. Brown's bottles fine, but he only eats 2 ounces typically. I am thinking about trying the NUK bottle with a wider nipple to see if he drinks more with that bottle.

This month I had a cousin from New York visit. Janet is my age and we had not spent much time together since the summer I graduated high school. I have only had one trip up since then and that was when my grandpa passed away. It was a joy to have her here! The twins loved her! It was such a blessing to spend time with her as adults.

My daddy is no longer working in California!!! He was able to move home this month and meet Luke for the first time!!! He is working in our area now and we are able to spend a lot more time together!

Luke went to his first Sylvan Beach Day Parade!

We also had Mother's Day this month. Brandon and the boys gave me an origami owl locket. It has a D, H, L, baby blue footprints, March and April birthstone, and the word Blessed. It is exactly what I wanted for my Mother's Day with our complete family!

Luke has fit in perfectly in our family. I was nervous about how it would work having a new baby. The twins were so easy and such great babies I did not know if I could be blessed with a 3rd easy baby. God saw fit to give me another laid back Olive boy! I adore this baby boy and I am so happy with how everything has worked out. He is everything I dreamed he would be.
